Andover College’s Preparation for College Week

Andover College has created a new online event for their applicants and local year 11 students. The new event ‘Preparation for College Week’ is a week of online masterclasses in over 40 subjects, taught by their expert lecturers.

From Monday 7 June – Thursday 10 June, the lecturing staff at the college will deliver live online sessions to students to give them a taster of what they will be learning come September and help with the transition between School and College. The sessions will be in meeting format meaning that the students get to interact with staff and future classmates.

At the end of the week, applicants will be invited on to campus for Applicant Transition Tours. The college finalised plans on how to do tours in the safest way possible for the applicants and their college community.  The tours will be separated into subject areas and limited to 6 applicants per tour with 1 accompanying adult allowed per applicant. The tours will give applicants an opportunity to see the college’s facilities, meet the lecturing staff and ask any questions they may have.

The college recognises that current year 11’s have missed out on many opportunities due to covid-19 and have created this week long event to prepare them for college life and support them in their next steps of education.

If you have not yet applied and would like to have a look around the college or take part in the Preparation for College Week sessions, applications are still open and you can apply on their website – Andover.ac.uk
