Andover College’s Art and Design students go regional
Last week our Art and Design students took part in Andover College’s internal heat for the ARTiculation Prize.
The Roche Court Educational Trust’s ARTiculation Prize has been running for the past 12 years and every year they work with over 50 museums, galleries, universities and arts associations to develop ARTiculation. Around 4,000 young people a year take part in 10 regions in England, four in Scotland and four in Ireland. The ARTiculation Prize was designed to give young people a forum in which they are able to express their ideas on art.
The three students; Jack, Will and Eve spent many months in preparation for the internal heat at Andover College to decide who would represent the college regionally. The students presented on a range of subjects including, The Holocaust Memorial Museums, The Jaguar XJR-9 LM and The Importance of Exploring Materials in Craft. The students work and presentations were judged by David Dixon from Chapel Arts Studios and internationally renowned artist Kimvi Nguyen.
The internal heat was a great success and a great opportunity for our art and design students to take part in. A massive congratulations to the winner of the internal heats, Eve, who will now be going on to represent the college in the regional heat at Roche Court, New Art Centre on Tuesday 12th February 2019. The winner of the regional heat at Roche Court, will then go on to the national final at Clare College, Cambridge. So good luck Eve!
Keep an eye out for further updates on the amazing journey our students are on.
