Andover College – first choice for student success
With A Level results top of the local leader board for another year, brand new vocational facilities and strong partnerships delivering 40 local apprenticeship programmes, Andover College should be students’ first choice for studying in September 2018. The College is opening its doors for the first time in a series of Open Events on Tuesday 3 & Wednesday 4 October 2017, 4:30-7:30pm, inviting parents and prospective students to see first-hand why students at Andover rise to the top.
Tim Jackson, College Principal said: “2017 has shaped up to be Andover College’s most successful year to date. Not only have we secured a second consecutive 100% A Level pass rate in our Sixth Form; our ‘Value Added’ data puts us in the top 5% of the country! It’s the combination of these two record-breaking accomplishments that leads us to believe students who choose to study at Andover College will achieve higher grades with us than any other college in the area.”
Head of Centre at Andover College, Ben Stokes said: “Visitors and prospective students often acknowledge that there’s something different about Andover College. Although we are hugely proud of our results – that’s not what drives us. It’s seeing our students achieve beyond their predictions which is down to our first class lecturers, small class sizes and personalised support and guidance, which collectively ensures our students get the very best out of their time at Andover College.”
Straight A student, Sam Sutton is heading to University of Warwick to study a Mathematics & Physics degree and describes the College as a community-driven environment, saying: “Whenever I’ve needed guidance, I’ve spoken to my lecturers, my tutor and the careers adviser. All of them have given me personal advice and helped me to feel confident in my decisions for my future.”
Visitors to the upcoming Open Events will have the opportunity to meet Andover College staff as well as current students across a wide range of subjects, from creative, professional and technical courses to A Level programmes. Industry-standard facilities will also be open for prospective students and parents to explore, including the College’s newly converted Art, Design and Digital Futures space and the £3.9M Technology and Future Skills Centre.
