Andover College celebrate its first volunteering fair in partnership with Unity

Sparsholt College Group’s Andover Campus celebrated its first volunteering fair in partnership with Unity. The event, hosted by The Lights Theatre, brought together local businesses seeking further support and encouraged students and members of the local community to get stuck in with volunteering!

Unity is a non-profit incorporated UK charity part-funded by Test Valley with a strong aim to ‘bring people together’. Unity Volunteering works to provide free help to local organisations and partnered with Andover College on the Volunteering Fair to draw further awareness to the needs of/and opportunities presented by local businesses.

At this free event, all visitors were welcome to meet representatives from local organisations, sign up for excellent volunteering opportunities and strengthen professional portfolios. Andover students were delighted to discover the volunteering opportunities, a wonderful asset to CV and UCAS applications, right on their doorstep.

With tea and coffee on hand around 350 students plus members of the public enjoyed the event.

Andover Campus Assistant Principal, Nikki Yates said:

“It was amazing to see so many organisations join together to showcase the incredible job they are doing. The fair provided students with the opportunity to learn about volunteering possibilities right on their doorstep, many students left the fair enthused about the potential of participating in a volunteer opportunity that will allow them to develop their skills while supporting such deserving organisations. Thank you to Unity and the organisations that attended.”
