Andover Campus celebrate Early Years student and Norland Nanny-to-be

Andover Campus is delighted to celebrate our very own student, Leo Pike who has accepted a training place at Norland College to undertake the Early Childhood Education and Care, BA Hons, and Norland Diploma. Since his enrolment in 2021 Leo commended his Early Years course at Andover for offering him the best opportunities. Now as a second-year student only months away from embarking on his journey with Norland to become a world-renowned Norland Nanny.

Norland, an institute steeped in history carries an impressive 130-year reputation for educating those who strive to be the best early years practitioners.

First introduced to Norland by his mum, Leo knew instantly that was the best next step for him. Unsure of his chances Leo poured all his time and effort into the application process, supported by Early Years lecturer, Mandy Woodray who said:

“Leo has always given his best while at Andover College, he is passionate about a future career in Early Years and his desire to learn and progress within the sector makes him a delight to have in the class. Leo has been completing his 750 hours in work placement conscientiously and has volunteered to carry out further hours to support the settings with trips and end of term activities. I am proud of leo and the progress he has made, he has developed as a practitioner and will leave for Norland with the skills he requires to become a Norland Alumni.”

He expressed that his application was made possible by the confidence instilled in him by his course at Andover Campus. Every module, placement and lecture serving as a reminder of Leo’s ability to not only look after children but to do so with distinguished skill. His studies took centre stage during the interview process where he presented ‘The Letterbox’ as an activity for children to engage with and enjoy.

Huge congratulations from all of us at Andover Campus.
