Studying Science and Mathematics helps you understand how the world really works and develops problem solving and logical thinking skills that are valued in almost every career and degree course.

Our students enjoy well‑equipped laboratories and lots of opportunity for practical learning to encourage curiosity and confidence, from titration to field studies, laws of motion and calculus to microbiology. Industry‑relevant learning includes:

• A wide range of trips including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Kew Gardens, Imperial College London, Studland and Monkey World, as well as Switzerland and CERN
• Specialised teaching from industry experts
• Open days organised by SSE (electrical transmission) and AWE (nuclear and defence industry), plus The Army Flying Museum Aeronautics and Astronautics Careers Event
• Access to Meducate clinical educators
• Visits to university taster days

Andover students have progressed into roles such as radiation scientist, cancer research biochemist, doctor, accountant, nuclear researcher, dietician, logistics and planning, marine biologist, to apprenticeships in engineering, aerospace, and scientific research, or higher education in a range of STEM subjects.
