Law

This subject will provide you with an understanding of the role of law in society whilst raising awareness of the rights and responsibilities of individuals. You will have an introduction to the English legal system as well as some areas of substantive law.

The courses challenge learners to understand the law and consider its effects in society so that it can be applied to everyday life.  Students find it particularly interesting that they can discuss the subject as it is happening, for example the changes to the UK in regard to EU law or the link with morality cases for euthanasia.

The course exhibits a student-focused teaching approach and allows for discussion of key areas to develop both understanding and analysis.  Students feel supported in their learning with the use of a wide range of activities – including debates, presentations and written tasks.
