Extended Project Qualification

The AS Level Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) provides you with the opportunity to focus on an area of interest without the constraints of working towards set topics. This gives you the scope to use your initiative and be creative in what you do, whether it be an artefact, an investigation, an event or an in-depth essay. 

Year after year, this freedom allows students to produce exceptionally creative projects that achieve fantastic results.

Projects have included:  

  •  A podcast exploring ethnicity in education and the modern world  
  • An exploration of the ethics of Fast Fashion   
  • A documentary on Karate  
  • A book of original poetry, published by an independent publisher 
  • A novel, written, edited and sent to literary agents 
  • A study of the popularity of dystopian literature with original research 
  • Five chapters of a novel based on research exploring the lack of representation of women of colour in the superhero genre  An
  • exploration into the impact of violence in film and TV on copycat serial killers 
  • An exploration into false convictions in the UK legal system 
  • An analysis of the role of social media and sporting influencers on sports brand marketing
