Access to Higher Education

Our Access to Higher Education courses are specifically designed to give you the foundation skills and knowledge to go on and study a degree. The diploma provides an intensive programme covering study skills and knowledge required for chosen career paths. You will leave college with a qualification recognised by universities.

Successful students have gone on to study, dental hygiene, primary school teaching, paramedical science, midwifery and mental health nursing. The course can also open doors to areas of study such as veterinary medicine, history, criminology and law.

ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS

Advanced Learner Loans are available to students aged 19 and over taking an Access to Higher education course. The loan covers tuition fees and is paid back once the course is completed and you’re earning more than £26,568 a year, so there is no upfront cost. Plus, if you go on to complete a full degree, your loan for the Access course will be written off.

Access to Higher Education - Combined Science

I start at the Royal Veterinary College in London in September to do a Veterinary Medicine degree and then after that I’ll be a qualified vet. At Andover they really encourage you starting independent study so you learn how to do it for university, and we’ve been taught referencing really well, which is a skill I will definitely take with me. You get a lot of support on the course and at the end of the day it can help you achieve what you want to achieve – this is a great place to do it.
