Sparsholt College Group celebrate Wellfayre success!
Sparsholt College Group’s Andover and Sparsholt Campus have been encouraging students to talk about their mental health this week with their annual Wellfayre event. Each year, students are invited to engage in fun activities, seek support and advice from local organisations and unwind in the name of wellbeing.
The College Group recognises that a student’s experience far exceeds the work done in a classroom and events such as Wellfayre exemplifies the effort put into supporting their students.
At Andover campus, the college welcomed the likes of Andover Mind, a local service supporting people with mental ill health and adult carers across Hampshire. The Yellow Brick Road, a charitable organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of young people. Breakout Youth, a local charity supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and Southern Health who sent representatives of their mental health triage team to share further information about the support available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The room was brought to life by students engaging in conversation, discovering the services right on their doorsteps and taking a moment of pause with their peers enjoying the complimentary hot chocolate, mindful colouring, yoga session and sleep space.
At Sparsholt Campus, the college also welcomed Breakout Youth and Hampshire Police to discuss wellbeing in day-to-day life. There were also many student and staff groups in attendance running activities for students attending to participate in. Sports students were promoting wellbeing through height measurements and a smoothie bike. There were yoga sessions ongoing as well to encourage students to take some time out.
