Electrical Apprentice Toby David Shines at SkillELECTRIC 2025 Regional Qualifier
Andover College is proud to celebrate the remarkable success of first-year Electrical Installation Apprentice Toby David, who competed in the SkillELECTRIC 2025 Regional Heat held at Bridgwater and Taunton College on Tuesday 10 June.
Out of more than 450 applicants nationwide who completed the initial online test, only 130 apprentices progressed to the regional heats. On Tuesday, Toby was among just 16 competitors selected to demonstrate their technical skill, precision, and problem-solving under competition conditions.
We’re delighted to announce that Toby, who is employed by BF Keane, achieved an outstanding second place in his regional heat – a tremendous accomplishment that places him among the UK’s most promising young electricians.
Brian Keane, Managing Director of BF Keane Electrical Contractors said that “we are incredibly proud of Toby for his outstanding achievement in placing second at the SkillELECTRIC 2025 Regional Heat. Toby’s dedication, talent, and hard work exemplify the high standards we strive for, and we look forward to seeing his continued success in the industry”.
In recognition of his achievement, Toby has also been invited to attend the NET Celebration of Skills in Central London on Wednesday 22 October – a prestigious event honouring the best emerging talent in the industry.
Helen Perry, Assistant Principal, Professions said: “Jon and I had the great pleasure of accompanying Toby to the competition and witnessing first-hand his dedication and skill. We are incredibly proud of him and look forward to seeing what the next stage of his journey holds.”
