Andover College offers the Complete Package

As standards and results reach top levels, more and more youngsters are choosing Andover College post-16, recognising their local college offers the complete package – wide subject choice, high standards, great facilities and opportunities for every individual to achieve more through one to one support and a culture that fosters personal development and achievement. The College is hosting another open day on Wednesday 16 November 2016, 4.30-8.00pm and invites local parents and their children to see for themselves how the College is preparing young people for their futures in an innovative and highly supportive environment.

It was the support and friendly environment which appealed to Bulford student Rhiannon Rae who chose Andover over other colleges closer to her home saying: “As soon as I looked around the College it felt right. It had the course I wanted to do and the lecturers are all very friendly, as are the other students. It doesn’t matter what your needs are, you are supported to succeed”. Rhiannon plans to study journalism at Southampton Solent University.

Andover College’s 100% A Level results topped the local leader board this summer with many students going on to leading Russell Group universities studying a wide variety of academic subjects including everything from Astro-physics to Korean Studies. But A Levels are not the only option at Andover College which also provides an extensive array of professional and technical courses that prepare young people for many varied vocational careers.

Vice Principal Martin Simmons reiterated the value of advanced technical skills in the economy and said: “Our focus is on providing the young people of Andover with choice and opportunity. Our flagship A Level programme is already turning heads with the consistency of our results and strong academic credentials. Equally our professional studies, such as creative and digital media, health and social care and technical trades are also extremely valuable pathways for young people, many of whom find they are streets ahead of their counterparts at university because of the in-depth knowledge they have acquired studying a specialist subject.”

The College’s Head of Motor Vehicle Tim Richman echoed this sentiment saying:

“We have a successful record of students progressing from our courses to study Motorsport Engineering at university. All of them acknowledge that once there they have the technical advantage over other students who come from a more academically focused A Level background”.

Principal Tim Jackson concluded: “We are proud to be different to other local colleges. Our investment in an innovative curriculum and the campus infrastructure with state of the art workshops and a new digital hub, ensures we are fit for the future. Coupled with our forward thinking approach to further education and small class sizes we are renowned for being reassuringly there for our students, and for the support everyone is given to develop academically and personally – we offer the complete package.”
