Andover College Celebrates A Level, T Level and BTEC Student Success on Results Day

Andover College celebrated its students’ success on Results Day (15 August) for A Level, T level and BTEC students. There was a huge sense of pride and celebration from staff, students and parents as students came to collect their results, celebrated with their peers, family and friends and enjoyed complimentary coffee and sweet treats.

Andover College (part of Sparsholt College Group) has once again bucked the national trend with results improving from last year which continues to establish the campus as one of the leading providers for A-level subjects in the region with 16 out of 19 courses achieving a 100% pass grade. Subject areas with high levels of students scoring A*-B included Chemistry with 88%, Geography with 57%, History with 56% and Politics with 60%.

In BTEC programmes, students performed equally as impressive with over 60% of learners achieving a high grade. In Computing, 88% of learners achieved a high grade along with 90% in Applied Law and 86% in Production Arts.

A special mention must also go to our first set of T-level learners who completed their two year Adult  Nursing programme with 100% of learners achieving a high grade in a subject that has been noted for its academic and vocational rigor. A phenomenal achievement which places the College at the forefront of T-level delivery.

Ben Stokes, Vice Principal, Curriculum Andover said:

“Today’s results are the culmination of the hard work that our learners, parents and staff have put in over the course of their studies. The results showcase their exceptional talents that have been honed during their time at Andover College whether they were studying an A-level, BTEC or T-level subject. They will move on to university or ambitious careers and we will watch with much excitement and pride as they excel in everything they do.

“We would like to congratulate each and every one of them and also take this opportunity to thank those who work with us to cultivate an environment that allows them to flourish – parents/guardians and our colleagues in secondary schools – Thank you and good luck for the future!”

“I’m so happy with my results, they’re unbelievable and now i can’t wait to go to university to do Chiropractic Study at AECC University in Bournemouth. I’ve had the best experience – especially with my teachers as they’ve been my biggest supporters and just so lovely. Andover College is just so supportive and i don’t think i would have achieved what i have done if i went to any other college because they just prioritize their support to their students and are just so lovely. My teachers are the best and it’s been so much fun learning with them. It’s nerve-wracking starting college and it feels like a slow process but go into it with an open mind and know the teachers are all there to help you when it gets difficult so just know you’ll be fine as it’s just the best experience ever.

“It’s an exciting day, things have worked out so well for Keely because she’s worked so hard and put in the hours of study and we’re so proud that she’s off to Uni in September with her first choice. She’s really enjoyed her time at Andover College as she feels she’s been looked after. My advice to any parents with students starting college would be not to worry if they don’t know a lot at the moment as everything slots into place and there is plenty of advice and support. There is a huge amount of variety at Andover College and the location is fantastic being near the centre of town with great transport links from areas like Amesbury.”

“I’m so excited to go to university, it’s going to give me lots of new and interesting opportunities – so i can’t wait! My advice to any new student would be not to panic, you have lots of time and if you’re ever struggling, please ask for help, there is plenty of support here at Andover College. I adore my teachers they’ve been such a help and so supportive and I’m just so thankful for them.”

“it’s so lovely to see so many smiling faces here today – Jess has done really well and we’re very very proud, she’s overcome a lot of hurdles and a lot of self-doubt to actually get the results she’s needed today and now she’s heading off to university so her dad and I are incredibly excited for her! We’re leaving it to Jess to decide how we’re celebrating later, but we will certainly mark results day as it’s a day to remember. To any parent with children starting college, the best advice i would give is to keep talking to them, find out if they feel like they’re struggling and find out what help you can get to support them and be there for them. Thank you to all the staff at Andover College and their support.”
