ALL SET FOR SEPTEMBER

Whether you’re joining Andover College for the first time or returning for another year, this page has everything you need to feel prepared and confident for September.

Here you’ll find your designated start date and answers to frequently asked questions to help you get organised ahead of term.

New courses start week commencing 1st September over a series of a couple of days. If you locate the courses you are studying on the list below, the exact time and date will be given. On the day, head towards main reception and the team will be there to greet you and ensure you get to your relevant session(s). If you are also doing GCSE/FS English and/or Maths, these will not be listed below but instead, identify the other course you are doing as part of your study programme and on your first day your timetable will be issued to you

It is important that you complete your ‘next steps form’ which has been emailed to you. This provides important information to help us support you during your time at college. If you have not received this, please email Nextstepsformandover@sparsholt.ac.uk and we will get a new one issued to you. You should also have attended college to enrol. Enrolment takes place between 21st August and 29th August.

If you have not received a time and date from us, please contact inforegandover@sparsholt.ac.uk and we will organise a slot for you. If you have applied late and have recently submitted an online application, the admissions team will contact you to organise an enrolment slot

The induction day provides you with all the necessary information to help you get started at College. There will also be opportunities to meet subject teachers and undertake course inductions such as key Health and Safety information for practical based courses.

You will get a chance to meet key staff such as progress coaches and the wellbeing team who will all support you during your time at Andover.

If you decide that you want to change your course(s) before the start of college then please send an email to inforegandover@sparsholt.ac.uk and we will contact you to discuss. Once you start college, please talk to your progress coach who can support you. There will also be drop in sessions available in PB14 at 1.30 – 2.30pm on Monday 8th September through to Friday 12th September.

It is important that you speak to a member of staff as soon as possible. We highly recommend that any course change takes place in the first couple of weeks at the latest so that you do not miss out on too much information from any new course you would like to move to.

Timetables will be issued on your first day. During enrolment, staff will be able to give you can outline of your timetable but this is then confirmed on your first day as it gives us an opportunity to make any changes based on class sizes and facilities so that you have the best experience possible

These will be issued on your first day. However, on occasions there may be a slight delay due to late enrolment, for example. If this is the case, we will notify you when it is available to collect from reception. Once you have your lanyard, this must be worn at all times to help us maintain the safety of the campus and enable you to access the facilities.

If you applied for the bus pass in sufficient time it will be available for collection on your first day at main reception. If there has been a delay in applying, we will notify you as soon as it arrives.

If you are entitled to free school meals please complete the bursary form located at main reception or as part of the Next Steps form, if you haven’t already done so. Free school meals are based on attendance and register marks so providing you have attended the induction period then this will be available to use from the 15th September.

These will start immediately subject to your timetable. It is really important that if you have any questions relating to your lessons you ask your progress coach or a member of the team straightaway. For those who will resit their GCSE Maths and/or English in November, there are only 6 weeks until the exams so every lesson you attend will help you make the progress you want.
