Football academy
Andover College’s Football Academy has been running for many years and is an integral part of the Sports department as well as Andover Town Football Club.
If you are studying one the Level 3 BTEC Sport courses or A Levels at Andover College, then you will have the option to be able to train and play within the Football Academy, alongside your main study programme.
You will train three times per week and be involved in a comprehensive match programme, which includes FA Youth Cup, Conference Youth Alliance League, the Hampshire Colleges Football League and the South West Counties Youth League. All training sessions will take place at the Portway Stadium.
You will be required to purchase your training kit which is approximately £160.
Whilst studying with the Football Academy, you may be able to take on extra qualification, such as:
• FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate
• Football Development Tour (international football)
• FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate (available only via selection)
• Pitch side first aid
• Two weeks work experience in the sports industry
• Optional Active IQ Level 2

RON BERTIE
Manager/ Head Coach for Andover Town Football Clubs 1st Team
Ron manages the two college teams and also holds the post of Manager/ Head Coach at Andover Town Football Club. Rob is UEFA A and B licensed, making him on of the most qualified coaches in Hampshire College Football.
GEORGE HOARE
Head Coach of Andover Town Football Clubs Under 23s
George is an Andover College Alumni and came back to the college to teach after completing his Sports Coaching Degree at Solent University. He also played in the Colleges elite team whilst a student at Andover. He is now undertaking his Level 2 Award in Football Coaching.

BRENDAN
Brendan Previously studied at John Hanson Community School before studying BTEC Level 3 Sport at Andover College. He chose to take the Football Academy pathway and played for the Colleges Team. He is now studying at Bournemouth as well as Team Captain of Andover Town Football Club.
JOSH
Josh Previously studied at The Stonehenge School before studying BTEC Level 3 Sport at Andover College. He chose to take the Football Academy pathway and played for the Colleges Team. He is now studying at Portsmouth University as well as playing for Salisbury City Football Club.
