What will I learn?
The course fee includes assessment in one category of animal, assessments can be taken in further categories of animal, subject to payment of additional assessment fees.
Categories of animal the course covers are: Sheep, cattle, pigs, goats

Where will it lead me?
This one-day course will give you knowledge to pass the NPTC Certificate of Competence test. For those involved in the transportation of animals by road on short journeys (over 65km and up to 8 hours duration) this qualification will ensure you meet the requirement for a Certificate of Competence on the Protection of Animals During Transport and the Welfare of Animals (Transport) Order 2006.

Experience of handling and transporting animals on farm.

Applicants must be 19+ on 31/8 in the academic year of the course in order to apply/enrol on the course.

Due to funding restrictions, this course is not eligible for:
16-19 funding which includes those aged 19-24 with an EHCP. Applies to all applicants including existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
