What will I learn?

This Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) approved qualification covers safe working practices and working relationships in vehicle testing centres, managing your own professional development, carrying out pre-checks and carrying out a full vehicle test.

The course will cover:

Unit 201 Safe working practices in the vehicle test centre
Unit 202 Working relationships within the vehicle test centre
Unit 203 Manage own professional development as an MOT tester
Unit 204 Carry out pre-test checks for a statutory periodic roadworthiness test
Unit 205 Carry out a statutory periodic roadworthiness test (M1 + N1)

Entry Requirements

Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification. Have a current and full UK driving licence for the vehicle classes you want to test be a skilled mechanic with at least 4 years’ full-time employment servicing and repairing the types of vehicles you’re going to test have no unspent convictions for criminal offences be ‘of good repute’ – the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency will decide this to make sure you’re suitable to be an MOT tester

Entry Requirements Age

Applicants must be 19+ on the start date of the course in order to apply/enrol on the course.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
