Introduction to Newt Ecology and Survey Techniques

Course Status

One day, 6 hr course on a Saturday in March or April, date to be confirmed.

What will I learn?

This course will introduce you to the Great Crested Newt, its habitat and the legislation that protects it. You will learn about survey techniques and the associated kit and equipment and weather permitting undertake some survey work on the college estate.

Where will it lead me?

This introductory course can lead to commencing the fieldwork required to achieve a Newt Survey Licence

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
