The Health and Social Care course covers a range of units such as Anatomy and Physiology, understanding mental wellbeing and promoting public health to teach you the skills needed to progress into a career in Health and Social Care or to study at university.
During the course there will be a range of guest speakers providing workshops and also off-site visits to local care providers to give you an insight into a variety of different settings. During the course you will complete work experience in different Health and Social Care settings. This provides you with valuable experience to demonstrate your suitability to prospective employers and universities.

Year One – This year leads towards a BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to 1.5 AS Levels).
Units include:
Unit 1: Human Lifespan Development
Unit 2: Working in Health and Social Care
Unit 6: Work Experience in Health and Social Care
Unit 11: Psychological Perspectives
Year Two – This year leads towards a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to 3 A Levels).
Units include:
Unit 3: Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care
Unit 8: Promoting Public Health
Unit 10: Sociological Perspectives
Unit 20: Understanding Mental Wellbeing
Coursework and external assessments
A range of Higher Education courses are available, including; Midwifery/Nursing, Teaching, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.
Through the year guest speakers provide workshops and there are off-site visits to local care providers to give you an insight into a variety of different Health and Social Care settings.
You will be taught in our Andover Sixth building and will have access to many different facilities, including: 2 study centres, a Library, A canteen and the Careers Hub
