In the first year, students will undertake two themes which address the core fundamentals of business. These include internal and external influences that can affect a business and its operations. Students will also learn to manipulate, analyse and interpret financial data to evaluate the changing business environment and propose strategies to support the business in terms of its survival. In year 2, students apply their knowledge and understanding from year 1 to a global context, including ethical considerations, international trading regulations and marketing to an international market.

Excellent attendance along with a genuine interest in business organisations is vital. You will show your commitment by keeping up to date with topical business news and developing your independent learning skills through research and application. You will build confidence, analytical and evaluative skills through debates, something which is vital for employability and for success in higher education. Visits, speakers and a range of activities help to simulate real life business environments.
You will cover the following units:
*Between the 29th of June and 12th of July first year A Level students will need to undertake work experience.
You will complete regular homework, in class assessments and timed questions in exam conditions. Your overall assessment will be an exam.
In the current, dynamic business climate, students are required by employers and universities to possess the right blend of technical and academic skills. These desirable skills enable students to become highly skilled, work-ready individuals with a bright future in any business environment or setting, such as an apprenticeship, Higher Education or into employment.
Trips vary from international destinations such as Washington DC and New York and also locally to Stannah, Britax and Universities
You will be taught in our Andover Sixth building and will have access to many different facilities, including: 2 study centres, a Library, A canteen and the Careers Hub.
