Take your skills to the next level with this advanced course in modern vehicle systems. Ideal for those with a Level 2 qualification, this diploma focuses on diagnosing and repairing complex faults in engines, transmissions, electrics, and hybrid systems.

Successful completion of a Level 2 Automotive Qualification and a grade 4 or above in Maths and English (Literature or Language)

 

  • Health and safety
  • Working professional relationships within industry
  • Gearbox and final drives
  • Engine technology, including spark ignition, fuel systems, exhaust systems
  • Chassis systems, which is brakes, steering and suspension
  • Auxiliary systems such as interior and exterior electrics
  • Electrical systems and diagnosis
  • Basic Hybrid and Electric Vehicle technology
  • Oil lubrication systems

 

Assignments, course work, practical and online multiple choice assessments at the end of each unit. 

 

 Potential career paths include becoming a vehicle technician. mechanic, or diagnostic technician. You could also specialise in areas like electric or hybrid vehicles, or pursue roles in motor sports or related fields. 

 

£30 for Textbook and approximately £35 for overalls, boots and anti-cut gloves.

Any trips associated with this course are optional and will be at the student’s own expense.

 

You will go on a number of field trips and excursions such as trips and visits designed to enhance your enjoyment of the course, broaden your knowledge and encourage team spirit including:  

Mercedes World 

Karting 

Beaulieu National Motor Museum 

 

We have a fully equipped motor vehicle workshop complete with a comprehensive range of vehicles, tools and equipment as well as an excellent welding and fabrication facility.
