This course provides a viable alternative to the traditional A Level science route. It will enable you to develop an understanding from a vocational context in order to see how science works in the real world and develop knowledge and skills that can be used in the industry.

You will flourish if you are passionate about your chosen area and are keen to go beyond the classroom whether it is out of personal interest or for career purposes. Science is, and should be, hands-on so you are expected to fully engage with practical experiments. If you want to study a BTEC Science course you must complete this certificate. You will then be able to progress on to a Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma.

As part of your course you will take part in a number of mandatory trips which are of direct relevance to the subject. You will also have access to high calibre careers advice and be given the opportunity to visit a number of universities to find out about their science related degree courses.
You will have access to a suite of superbly equipped laboratory facilities divided between physics, biology, chemistry and environmental science.
You have access to well-equipped laboratories which have been recently modernised and been much admired as a great practical learning space as well as support from our science technicians.
