An Accounts/Finance Assistant is an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within a business. You will be responsible for assisting the team of accountants with junior accounting duties. These can vary massively depending on the team structure and size of business.

On completion of the apprenticeship, you can work in almost any sector. Potential employers include corporate businesses, sole traders, partnerships, Public Sector, not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions. Accounts/Finance Assistants may work in-house for an organisation or they might work for accountancy firm, bookkeeping practice, Shared Service provider, self-employed or on behalf of several different clients.

Five GCSEs at 9–4/A*–C (Including English Language and a minimum Level 5 in Maths).

 

An Accounts/Finance Assistant requires a combination of skills; basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry.

You will attend College on a day-release basis during term-time for the duration of your programme with us, to gain knowledge and develop some practical skills.

 

Apprentices must meet the knowledge, skills, and behaviours as defined within the standard. All apprentices must take an independent assessment at the end of their training to assess their ability and competence in their job role.

 

Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship. AAT is an internationally-recognised qualification which is widely sought after by employers meaning you are open to a range of careers.
