What will I learn?

Level 3 introduces more complex accounting tasks such as preparing financial accounts and maintaining cost accounting records.

The AAT Accounting Qualification is a professional qualification which will start you on the path to a successful accounting and finance career.   • Business Awareness

    Where will it lead me?

    After you’ve gained AAT level 3, you can choose how to build on all the skills and knowledge you?’ve gained. The AAT will help develop your career as an accounting and finance professional.

    You can:
    – work towards level 4

  • Become an AAT full member (and use the letters MAAT after your name)
  • Become a chartered, certified or management accountant
  • Go to university (although the qualification in itself is a cost-effective alternative)
  • Start your own business and become self-employed
    – apply for qualified bookkeeper status

    Free if aged 19+ and either unemployed or have a gross salary income (excl benefits) below £25,750* otherwise Advanced Learning Loan available.

    Free if aged 19-23 and have not achieved a full Level 3 and have a gross salary income (excl benefits) above £25,750* otherwise Advanced Learning Loan available.

    *19+ on 31/8 in academic year course starts. Includes those who are employed or self-employed. Please contact the College for further information on gross salary income (excl benefits) below £25,750 funding eligibility.

    All fee remission is subject to availability of Government funding at the start date of a course and eligibility criteria.
