What will I learn?

Overview
If you enjoy drawing and painting, or you are curious and would like to try your hand, this could be an ideal course for you. We will be exploring colour mixing, how to combine colours in harmonious ways and how to apply your colours to a subject. This will take the form of Still-Life, Landscape and the Human Figure and a dabble in Abstraction.
The course is open to all who are interested in drawing and painting and would like to explore art in a creative, supportive and friendly environment. The aim of your tutor will be to help you to develop skills and a deeper appreciation of all things art! His aim will be to help you develop confidence in drawing and painting and to begin to find your own style and expression.
What Will I Study?
Your tutor will start with the basics of how to approach observational drawing, and how to translate drawings into painting with colour.
There will be some portraiture, some figure drawing, colour exploration and drawing from objects. There will also be some explorations into composition and how to abstract the visual world!
A variety of drawing and painting techniques will be put into practice, combined with a range of related contextual references on how these techniques have been used by relevant artists historically and currently.

Where will it lead me?

Progression
There are many art courses available ‘out there’ so it will be very useful, if not essential, to discuss your ideas with your tutor
