No previous acting experience is required for the Level 3 Performing Arts – acting course, just the energy, commitment and desire to succeed! You will rehearse and perform in our very own 100 seat theatre, drama studios and mirrored dance studio. There are various theatre visits and trips to support your learning. 

You will get an introduction into the discipline and art of professional acting. You will also plan, devise and create your own performance as a theatre company.

Five GCSEs at Grade 9–4

 

Year One – You will get an introduction into the discipline and art of professional acting. You will explore the work of practitioners in the field of theatre and film including Stanislavski and Brecht underpinning the principles of acting which will be applied practically throughout the course.   

Year Two – You will apply the practical skills and theories learnt from year one. You will plan, devise and create your own performance as a theatre company. You will also conduct (with tutor support) your own special subject investigation thus identifying your own progression routes.  

 

Coursework and final assessment

 

Higher Education with a combination of other Level 3 BTEC and A Level courses. Employment in stage performance or broadcast media or as a community/freelance Arts Worker. 

 

You will go on a number of field trips and excursions such as theatre visits and trips in order to contextualise and support your learning and development. 

 

You will rehearse and perform in our very own 100 seat theatre, drama studios and mirrored dance studio. We are also located on the doorstep of the Lights Theatre which plays host to numerous productions
