The Ladies Hairdressing course provides an insight into the theory and practical aspects of all hairdressing skills and related topics allowing progression into the workplace as a junior stylist. 

You will need to have a keen interest in hairdressing, be a team player, enjoy working with the public, be a great communicator and listener and have a passion as well as individual personality. You will be required to complete self-study and work experience within a salon for 350 hours over the year’s course.

GCSE grade 9-4 in English Language (or Literature) and Maths

 

This course provides all the knowledge, an insight into the theory and practical aspects of all hairdressing skills and related topics allowing progression into the workplace as a junior stylist.   

The qualification covers 8 mandatory units which will develop your knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology and health and safety requirements. You will also provide a range of cutting colouring and styling services and develop communication, customer service, problem solving and research skills.

2 Final exams on line, graded practical assessments and synoptic exam.

 

Level 3 Diploma in HairdressingNVQ Level 3 Hairdressing Apprenticeship.   

Employment as a hairdresser, either in a salon or self-employment. 

 

Opportunity to go to the biggest hairdressing show to see professional events and live training shows. Guest speakers we have are from Schwarzkopf to train with our professional products and colours. Steiner come in to talk about a career you can have within cruise ships.

 

We have two equipped fully functioning salons; one for training purpose and the commercial Elements salon for clients. Both salons have salon friendly lighting to give the light to achieve the prefect outcomes on colours and cuts.  

A fully equipped dispensary section to have all your electrical items and setting equipment. Learners will have to learn how to use our washing machines and tumble dryers so they can have a stock of t towels ready to be able to use for the next working day. All PPE is provided to maintain good hygiene and to keep all learners safe.  

We work with Schwarzkopf for professional products and colours. 

 

All students studying a Level 2 Technical Diploma in Ladies Hairdressing will complete a work placement in a professional salon throughout the academic year. Two dedicated placement days will form a part of a student’s weekly timetable and there will be regular group tutorial sessions in order to complete time sheets and portfolios.
