Future Plans: Studying Three Dimensional Design at Manchester Metropolitan University

Secondary School: Budehaven (Bude, Cornwall)

“After taking time out of education for unforeseen circumstances, Andover College was the perfect opportunity for me to get back on track. The design courses and staff instantly made an impression on me, further supporting my decision to study at Andover College. It has always been my long term goal to achieve a place studying a design based course at a leading university.  Through the incredible support of my lecturers, I have not only decided what course I want to study, but I have received an unconditional offer at a renowned university. This would not have been possible without building great relationships with my lecturers who in turn challenged me and pushed my work to higher standards. Andover College and their lecturers provide an impeccable platform, supporting you all the way to the next stage in life.

I have enjoyed the endless experimentation with techniques, programmes, equipment and materials. The design courses are great for finding the type of designer you are. Once you find the skills that complement you as a designer, your projects can be moulded to your unique style. In my case, this meant spending time on my work was exciting and even became slightly obsessive!

I am now going to be going to university before entering the design industry for work. From studying Business combined with the design work I have created, I have ambitions to one day own my own business.

College has prepared me so that I have an understanding for what it takes to be successful in a very competitive industry.

My lecturers have helped me find skills I didn’t even know I possessed and have guided me into the right direction. Through the relationships I have built in Andover College, I am continuing into university as a better, more skillful student.

In summary, Andover College is inspirational, supportive and exciting.”
