In the Vehicle Inspections  course you will learn the skills and theory needed for entry into the automotive industry or progression to the Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Service and Repair. You will have a keen interest in motor vehicles, a willingness to work hard and learn in both a practical and theory environment. You will have the opportunity to go karting twice in the year as a team building activity. 

Four GCSEs at grade 9–3, including Maths, English and Science

Successful completion of Level 1 IMI Diploma in Transport Maintenance 

 

You will learn the skills and theory needed for entry into the automotive industry or progression to the Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Service and Repair.  

  • Health and safety and housekeeping 
  • Materials and measuring in motor vehicle 
  • Inspection and repair of light vehicle or high performance tyres 
  • Inspection of exhausts and related components 
  • Inspection of batteries and related components 
  • Inspection of brakes and related components 

 

Assignments, course work, practical and online multiple choice assessments at the end of each unit. 

 

Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Service and Repair Principles

£30 for Textbook and £25 for overalls 

 

You will go on a number of field trips and excursions such as trips and visits designed to enhance your enjoyment of the course, broaden your knowledge and encourage team spirit including:  

Mercedes World 

Karting 

Beaulieu National Motor Museum 

 

We have a fully equipped motor vehicle workshop complete with a comprehensive range of vehicles, tools and equipment as well as an excellent welding and fabrication facility.
