The Psychology course introduces you to the five main areas of psychology: developmental (development of personality), social (stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination), cognitive (memory), behavioural (non-verbal communication) and research methods used in psychological investigations. You should have a genuine interest in explaining human behaviour, and consequently have the ability to apply what you learn in class to your own situation.

You should have a genuine interest in explaining human behaviour, and consequently have the ability to apply what you learn in class to your situation. Apart from the practical element of carrying out experiments on willing participants, you are actively encouraged to discuss your own experiences in class to improve understanding of particular theories/models.
You will be assessed through building up a portfolio of evidence. These include coursework, presentations and experiments..
After studying this subject you can move on to study any of our Level 3 courses.
