What will I learn?
This course is designed for those of you who love theatre and want to take an active role in bringing creative ideas to life. You will get opportunities in lighting, sound, props, set and the back stage operations required for live performance.
The first year of the course leads to a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Production Arts (Stage Management) (equivalent to an AS Level).
The second year of the course leads to a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Production Arts (Stage Management) (equivalent to an A Level).
There are no external examinations and you will be assessed through a series of assignment briefs and projects carried out throughout the year. It is important for you to be able to manage your time effectively in order to submit your work by the deadlines set.

This course can run alongside a range of BTEC and A Level courses, and works well alongside performance based courses such as Performing Arts and Dance.
This is a very practical course which works to create a realistic experience of working within a range of production scenarios; from our in-house theatre to professional theatre spaces and Theatre in Education touring productions.
Study trips include backstage tours at large scale London theatres such as The National Theatre and performances of a variety of live theatre; from large scale West End productions to small scale and touring repertory theatre.
What grades will I need?
Five GCSEs at A*-C/94 (including English), or Merit in a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a related subject
