The T Level in On-site Construction has been designed to deliver a high level of knowledge about the onsite industry as well as the occupational skills required to enter the industry. You will have the choice to focus on one occupational specialism – either Bricklaying or Carpentry & Joinery. 

Alongside this, you will undertake an industry placement that runs for a minimum of 45 days which will allow you to put into practice the knowledge and skills learnt. Underpinning both of these will be transferrable skills in digital, English and maths so that you are best placed to either progress to university or directly into the construction industry.  

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4, including English and Maths.

 

Over the duration of the course you will cover: 

  • Health and Safety 
  • Construction Science Principles 
  • Sustainability in the Construction Industry  
  • Carpentry & Joinery or 
  • Bricklaying  

 

Assessment will come in different forms. In some instances, you will undertake exams to test core skills whilst practical skills test will help assess your occupational specialismWith T-levels, your work placement employer will also help by ensuring you cover key areas within your placement which will help prepare you for assessments.

 

The T Level helps prepare learners to enter the industry through employment or as an apprentice. It also gives learners the opportunity to progress to higher education courses and training.

 

The T-level qualification provides ample opportunities to experience different work settings through the industry placement element of the course. 

 

The College has a specialist facility that provides excellent, industry standard facilities for Bricklaying and Carpentry in its Technology and Future Skills Centre.
