The Music Technology Events Support courses will help you to develop the skills and knowledge needed to manage music events. You will become familiar with tasks, strategies and factors that influence the success of an event, then will put the theory into practice by planning and managing a music event. You will learn how to set up staging and technical equipment for live events. You will also be taught how to capture sound and record a full song using a music software. 

Five GCSEs at grade 9–4

 

Students will learn how to organise a local event. They will reflect upon marketing strategies as well as learning how to set up a PA and stage monitors. They will also have the opportunity to use both an analogue and digital mixing desk. 

 After Year One you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Music Technology (Events Support). 

After Year Two you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Music Technology (Events Support).

BA/BSc (Hons), Roles in studio and live sound engineering, music production and the Music Industry including artist or stage management, publishing or promotion. 

To help with your studies we have a multimedia suite featuring a variety of music/media-related software packages and a professional theatre for drama and music productions. There are also opportunities to collaborate with local music venues when planning and organising events.
