*Between the 29th of June and 12th of July first year A Level students will need to undertake work experience.
In both years of the A Level course, you will study a module of Further Pure and two of Applied Mathematics.
Further Pure delves further into the units:
- Complex numbers
- Polar coordinates
- Differential equations
Further Applications include:
- Decision: Allocations, critical path analysis, dynamic programming, games theory, simplex algorithms
- Mechanics: Moments, centre of mass, energy, circular motions and differential equations
- Statistics: Discrete and continuous random variables, poisson distribution, hypothesis testing and contingency table
What grades will I need?
Six GCSEs at A*-C/9-4 (including an A/7 or above in Maths)
BTEC Level 2 qualifications considered in subject related courses
- Exploration geophysics
