What will I learn?
This qualification is suited to students who are bridging the gap between Level 2 and Level 3 study. You will study health and social care at Level 3 with the opportunity to resit GCSE English and/or Maths. At the end of year 1 you will complete a Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care (the equivalent of one A Level).
All lecturers have a professional background in the health and social care sector ranging from mental health, youth offending, social work, to working with adults with learning difficulties.
This year leads towards a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to an A Level).
This year leads towards a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (equivalent to two A Levels).

You will work alongside professionals in your choice of work placement one day a week to put knowledge learnt into practice. An end of course outing celebrates the successful completion of the course and your achievements.
What grades will I need?
Five GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 (including either English Language, Maths or Science)
Merit in a level 2 BTEC Diploma
How will I be assessed?
Coursework and final assessment.
