What will I learn?

The course is tested by two national examinations, therefore it is 100% exam based.
To reach your full potential over one year, commitment to attend  the course is essential, and it is expected you would have an interest in literature and language and know the basics of language, its use and structures.
This course will be taught by an experienced team of  English specialists providing you with a chance to achieve a grade 4 or above, this is equivalent to a grade C in the former GCSE qualification.

Where will it lead me?

GCSE English at grade 4 or above is required by many employers and for entry to higher education.
 
Employers in all sectors like you to have English qualifications as it demonstrates ability in a core subject.

Entry Requirements

You must have GCSE English at D/3. Access to this course is via initial and diagnostic assessment to ascertain suitability of the course for your study needs.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started their course.
