Five GCSEs at Grade 9-4
This Dance course covers choreography, performance and theory. You will study the principles used to create dance choreography, producing trios, duets and group dances. You will develop performance skills and dance technique through a range of styles including ballet, contemporary, Jazz, street Jazz and international dance. You will watch, analyse and critique dance work within your dance group and from a range of choreographers and genres as well as learning to understand the human body anatomically. There are a number of theatre visits and trips to support your learning.

In year one you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Performing Arts – Dance (equivalent to an AS Level).
In year two you will gain a BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts – Dance (equivalent to an A Level).

University or Dance School to achieve a BA (Hons) Degree in Dance or Performing Arts
You will go on a number of field trips and excursions such as theatre visits and trips in order to contextualise and support your learning and development. Close links with the performance industry include workshops which allow you to experience how professional dancers train, develop skills, explore stimuli and produce work for performance.
You will rehearse and perform in our very own 100 seat theatre, drama studios and mirrored dance studio. We are also located on the doorstep of the Lights Theatre which plays host to numerous productions and our annual Arts Festival.
