*Between the 29th of June and 12th of July first year A Level students will need to undertake work experience
What will I learn?
The key aspect of the Extended Project Qualification is the freedom you have to explore and write in genres that are of most interest to you, such as science fiction, the gothic or travel writing. Previous projects have included graphic novels, short story collections, poetry anthologies and children’s writing. You will have opportunities to meet and work with published authors, as well as attending creative writing workshops.
You will have a project supervisor who will offer you guidance and feedback, and the topics covered will be entirely of your choosing. These could include:
- Prose fiction
- Prose non-fiction
You will complete a final creative piece of your choosing (for example, book of poetry, children’s story) along with a reflective logbook documenting the process you followed throughout the course. A final presentation is completed that provides opportunity for question and answer so that others can understand how you were able to produce your creative project.
