Body massage – Learners will be able to understand the physical and psychological benefits of body massage to meet the clients’ needs and provide a range of body massage treatments which include traditional Swedish, forearms, heal of hand and elbows and massage using pre-blended oils
Facial and body electrotherapy – Learners will be introduced to the different electrical equipment which can be used to improve skin conditions. This will include improving contour and muscle condition, skin texture and lymphatic drainage.
Provide dry spa treatments – Learners will be able to prepare and safely apply techniques for dry spa treatments to cover cleansing, body brushing, exfoliation body masks and body wrapping. These treatments will be able to aid slimming, detoxifing and improving skin conditions.
Anatomy and physiology – The purpose of this unit is for the learners to fully understand the anatomy and physiology of the body and being able to apply this knowledge within the beauty and spa treatments. Learners will study each of the different systems of the body and understand how they interact with each other.
Tanning treatments – The purpose of this unit is for learners to prepare and provide safe effective self-tanning treatments to clients and to understand the dangers associated with UV tanning. Learners will be able to apply both manual tanning techniques and spray tanning products evenly.
Provide individual semi-permanent lash treatments – Learners will be able to select the correct lashes, master the techniques of application, maintain and remove individual semi-permanent lashes.
What grades will I need?
Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Extended Diploma in Beauty Therapy, plus GCSEs A*–D/9–3 English and Maths

Where will it lead me?
This qualification could lead to employment within the hairdressing industry working in a hair salon, spa, cruise ship, self-employment etc.
- We have an annual trip to ‘Professional beauty’ .
- Regular visits from industry professionals to contribute to the delivery of a units.
- Students will take part in ‘Master classes.’
- Students will be require to take part in structured work experience or work placement that develop skills relevant to the qualification
