Life Goooals for the Football Academy!

Football Academy

Football Academy students at sister colleges, Andover and Sparsholt have the opportunity to propel themselves straight into careers in professional football thanks to a new partnership with Premier League football club, AFC Bournemouth. Tailored for top quality, committed players between the ages of 16 and 19, the AFC Bournemouth Second Chance Elite programme aims to develop students’ footballing potential alongside gaining nationally-recognised qualifications in sport.

The practical programme, which ultimately aims to produce new players for AFC Bournemouth will provide students with an outstanding platform to showcase their footballing skills.

Joe Roach, AFC Bournemouth Academy Manager and Head of Coaching said: “This exciting new collaboration with Sparsholt and Andover College, including Andover Town FC, provides an ambitious football development plan for the region. AFC Bournemouth sees this as a fulfilling programme catering for every individual – players who may not have had the opportunity to play in a professional environment and those who have been released by professional football clubs. We will be recruiting to the programme through targeted recruitment and bespoke trials to find the talented footballers and we look forward to welcoming them to the Second Chance Elite programme.”
