Decision time for Year 11 students

With Christmas done and dusted and final GCSE exams only a few months away, now’s the time for Year 11 students to make some college decisions. Andover College is already buzzing with applications for next year and will host the first of its 2016 Open Evenings on Thursday 4 February 2016, 4.30pm to 7.30pm, to provide course information and careers advice to young people and their parents anxious to make the right choice for next year.

Principal Tim Jackson comments on why there’s never been a better time to go to Andover College: “We are pleased to report that our applications to date have increased significantly, notably in our Creative Arts department, which was rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and our A level programme which has built its reputation on consistently high academic results and the widest choice of subjects in the area. Andover students have established a track record of heading to some of the country’s top universities and Art schools following their time here with many coming back to share their experiences with current students.”

The College’s skill-based vocational courses are also recruiting well and the College’s investment in the new multi-million pound Technology and Future Skills Centre which will open in September, will provide the facilities and industry standard equipment to train the engineers, mechanics and construction specialists of the future.

Tim Jackson also said: “We are also investing in our digital capabilities at Andover to ensure that students are equipped with a complete “digital backpack” to underpin their studies and make them highly employable in their future careers.”

He continued: “We have worked enormously hard in the last five years to provide the community of Andover with a really reputable college on their doorstep, one that offers choice, variety and quality in an environment where each individual is supported to achieve their very best. There really is no need to make long, tiresome journeys to college any more when so much is already happening at Andover College.”
