Andover College launch ‘Digital Futures’
With A Level results top of the local leader board, outstanding vocational facilities and courses and strong partnerships delivering 40 apprenticeship programmes Andover College should be the number one choice for parents and students exploring colleges for September. With the dynamic nature of digital technology, the College is launching an inspiring new approach to its computing, digital and creative media courses. ‘Digital Futures’ recognises the increasing demand for multi-faceted creative and technological skills.
Tim Jackson explains further: “We are training students for jobs and careers which have yet to be created but we know these dynamic industries are increasingly looking for digital experts with technical, mathematical and creative talent. ‘Digital Futures’ combines these elements enabling animators to learn how to code and draw and programmers to work with artists to build creative and digital solutions. We’re leading the way in our unique approach to the delivery of these courses”.
The College’s multi-million pound Technology and Future Skills Centre will also be open for the first time at the open evenings. Working with leading local employers the College has created industry-standard facilities and teaching space, providing students with the skills and knowledge in demand locally and nationally.
The College’s Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ Art and Design department also excels in inspiring a multi-faceted understanding of the creative industries which has produced skilled professionals excelling, for example, as award winning shoe designers to top fine art artists.
And for students keen to pursue excellence in the STEM and science subjects, the College has a proven track record of success in these disciplines with students progressing to top Russell Group universities such as straight A* student Daniel Phillips who has just started at the University of Cambridge to study Natural Sciences having achieved A*A*A* in Physics, Chemistry and Further Maths last summer.
