Enriching your course

Alongside their studies, students may enjoy access to our excellent facilities through clubs and enrichment activities. For example, you may use our art studio kilns or darkrooms in our ceramic and photography clubs. Our 40 seat cinema regularly shows classics and more recent movies at cut price. We are next door to The Lights Theatre, offering a packed programme of comedy, theatre, music and dance. Students also have easy access to Andover Leisure Centre with its fully equipped gym, fitness studios, indoor courts and 25m swimming pool. And for that all important night out, look no further than Elements Hair and Beauty Salons for high quality treatments at amazing prices.

Breakout areas

In addition to our excellent teaching and learning facilities, there are plenty of places where you can discuss ideas with friends and colleagues, or simply take a break. The Sixth Form Academy has its own common room with relaxing seating and refreshment machines. The main college building also has a modern restaurant with comfortable seating, pool table and flat-screen TV.

Student clubs and societies

Andover College students organise a wide range of events, gigs and parties. There is also a big choice of activities on offer in the enrichment programme such as dance, drama, music, art and film as well as the student magazine and various sports including football, cricket, rugby, tennis and basketball.

Trips and visits

Many of our students attend trips and events outside of the College. Every Wednesday afternoon, our college sports teams compete against other colleges in the region. (We’re not bad either: some of our students have been in national squads and we’ve even had some students who went on to represent Great Britain in the Olympic Games). Other opportunities have included a watersports trip to Spain, a drama trip to Poland and many group visits to plays and art exhibitions.

Have your say

In continuing to develop courses, services and facilities for learners we ensure that students are at the heart of the consultation process. Our regular ‘learner voice’ meetings provide a formal mechanism to discuss topics such as curriculum planning, equality and diversity, campus redevelopments, catering services, environmental issues and much more.
