Apprenticeships
Opening doors to a better future
Apprenticeships can make your organisation more effective, productive and competitive by addressing your skills gaps directly, even in uncertain economic times.
Apprenticeships provide a mixture of on and off-the-job training for people of all ages while they are being paid. As employees, apprentices work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off-the-job, often on a day release basis, apprentices receive training from Andover College to get the knowledge to underpin their practical work-based skills.
Apprenticeships typically take between one and two years to complete but this is determined on an individual basis.

What will it cost me?
If your apprentice is aged 16 to 18, the apprenticeship will cost you nothing except their normal pay.
If your apprentice is aged 19 or over Sparsholt College will make a one-off charge of £500 to cover administration, registration and examination fees. This will be invoiced at the beginning of the programme.
Some Apprenticeships also include legislative qualifications such as Safe Use of Pesticides or All Terrain Vehicle Handling. The employer is expected to meet at least 50 per cent of the cost of such training (exact price will depend upon the individual framework). We will discuss this in detail with you before the Apprentice starts.
