Andover College presents Top of the Pops Through The Ages
08 March 2010
If you are of a certain age you might remember with some fondness Thursday evenings watching Top of the Pops. Be wistful no more as Andover College Music Academy students present Top of the Pops Through The Ages. This evening of music through the decades is being held at John Hanson School on Thursday 18th March. Doors open at 6.30pm and tickets costing £3 per adult and £1.50 for concessions are available at Andover College reception.
The 1950s will kick off proceedings with Jonny B Good amongst others getting the music students’ magic. Hold on to your seats as they blast through the years featuring some Beatles and Dire Straights, arriving in the present day with Paramour to name but a few. There will be four bands performing with students from the BTEC First Diploma, BTEC National Diploma and BTEC National Award courses. Plus accompanying their musical colleagues will be the College’s drama students who have choreographed a number of routines to perform on the evening.
Rebecca Lyon, Music Lecturer at the College says: “This really is a terrific show. The students are very talented and this is a great opportunity for them to showcase both their musical ability and the Music Academy at Andover College.”
