Andover College showcases Art at Open day

09 March 2010

Andover College Art Department will be showcased on Saturday 13 March 2010 as part of the College’s next Open Day.  Year 10 and 11 students from Harrow Way, John Hanson and Winton schools will experience first hand life as a college art student as they attend a printmaking workshop (fine art relief printmaking using printing presses) and a textiles workshop (constructing from unconventional textiles materials).  The entire College will be open so for those looking to learn more about other academic and vocational courses offered, staff and students will be available for chats and tours of the facilities.

Martin Simmons College Vice Principal said: “This is an ideal opportunity for prospective students to visit the College with their families and have an informal look round.   Each of the curriculum subjects will be represented by both lecturers and students to provide an all round picture of life studying here.  The quality of teaching and learning at the College is well documented - the progress our students make is among the best in Hampshire.  This is therefore also an opportunity for those visiting on Saturday to get a ‘feel’ for the place which we pride ourselves on being tight knit and personal.”

The College will be open from 10.00 am to 1.00pm so whether you're leaving school in September, need to get professional qualifications, looking to improve your skills or simply try something new, Andover College may well have the ideal course.
