The course is designed to improve your knowledge of motor vehicles and the motor industry. This will include workshop health and safety, removing and replacing components and understanding a wide range of systems.

IMIAL Level 3 Diploma Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles

Your study of the systems found on light vehicles will enable you to diagnose complex faults and repair them and prepare you for working in the motor industry or entering higher education.

We have a large fully equipped motor vehicle workshop complete with a comprehensive range of vehicles, tools and equipment. Alongside the motor vehicle workshop we have an excellent welding and fabrication facility.

You should have a keen interest in motor vehicles; willingness to learn in a practical and theory environment; be self-motivated, able to study and complete written assignments to set deadlines; good underpinning knowledge of light vehicle electrics, engine, transmission and chassis principles.

Our students are consistently successful on this course, achieving results which year after year are better than expected across the country.

Opportunities for additional qualifications include C&G Level 2 Welding in MIG and Gas Welding.

You will learn the skills and theory needed for entry into the vehicle fitting industry or progression to the full Level 2 Award in Light Vehicle Service and Repair.

We have a fully equipped motor vehicle workshop complete with a comprehensive range of vehicles, tools and equipment as well as an excellent welding and fabrication facility.

You will have a keen interest in Motor Vehicles, willingness to work hard, respect each other and learn in both a practical and theory environment. Our students are consistently successful on this course, achieving results which year after year are better than expected across the country.

Students may have the opportunity to gain an additional qualification in Mig Welding Skills.
